About Safe Silver Guide
Safe Silver Guide is a reference site for people who want to buy silver online without being fooled by a fake product, a padded price or a payment trap. It is written and maintained by an editorial team, and no individual author is named on any page. Every guide is reviewed by that team before it is published, and the byline on each page says so. The site has no contact form, no comments and no customer accounts, so there is nothing here to sign up for.
The routine behind the site is simple. We built a seven-point checklist, and every guide is an elaboration of one step. You can see the full list on the safest place to buy silver online page, which also holds the live silver price.
How prices are sourced
Silver prices on this site come from a live spot feed. Each figure that depends on it carries a time stamp, shown as the "as of" label near the price card and in the page text. The weight values, gram conversions and worked premium examples are all computed from that same spot figure, so they always agree with each other. When we show a premium percentage, it is labelled as an example and not a quote, because we do not know what any seller will charge you today.
Spot is a market reference for raw metal. It is not a price you can buy at, and it does not include a seller's premium, shipping or any tax. We use it as a yardstick so you can judge a quote, not to predict where silver is heading.
How dealer facts are researched
When we write about a named company, we read its own pages first, then its BBB profile and any regulator pages that mention it. We record what each page says, the address of the page and the date we read it. Each fact then receives one of three status words.
- STATED means the page says it, and the table shows what.
- NOT STATED means we read the page and it did not say.
- CAN'T BE CHECKED means we could not read the page, or it sat behind a login or a block.
Some company sites blocked automated readers when we visited, and we did not try to get around those blocks. Where that happened, the item is marked CAN'T BE CHECKED and the page tells you to read the company's own terms yourself. We paraphrase what we read instead of quoting at length, and we do not print star ratings or review counts in the text of a guide. Because policies change, every dealer fact carries its read date, and the site is set up to stop publishing dealer tables once the data gets old.
We also do not give verdicts. A dealer page tells you what was checked, what was found and what was left open, and the decision stays yours.
How we are paid
This site earns money through a paid affiliate link to Augusta Precious Metals. If you follow the link and later become a customer, Augusta may pay the site. That is the only way the site is paid. There are no ads, no sponsored dealer pages and no payment from any other company named here, including the dealers and retailers we check.
The commercial link has a visible effect: Augusta appears in a few places with a green button that requests a free information kit, and Augusta then contacts you by phone. We say this near each button. We also say, near each mention, that Augusta works with purchases from $50,000, as stated by Augusta, so a reader with a small order does not click expecting a fit. The link does not change what the dealer pages say about other companies, and we write those pages the same way whether or not a company has a partner relationship with us.
How corrections happen
Errors will occur, and prices and policies move. When we find one, or learn of one, we correct the page and republish it with an update note that says what changed and the date. The table below lists published changes. There is no mailbox for corrections on this site, so the update history is the place to check whether a point has been fixed.
If a company changes a policy after the date we read it, trust the company's own current page over our table. Our read date is there so you can see how fresh the fact was when we recorded it.
What this site is not
Safe Silver Guide is information. It is not financial, tax or legal advice, and we cannot tell you whether buying silver suits your situation. We cannot tell you what a seller will do after you pay, or how a bank or card issuer will rule on a dispute. Use the checks, read the written terms and make your own decision.
